Welcome!
My name is Logan Gordy and I am a percussionist/music educator in Columbus, GA.
A little about me…
I grew up in Smiths Station, AL, having been a part of the “Panther Spirit” Marching Band, and am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in music education at the Schwob School of Music.
Heavily involved in the community, I have performed as a part of groups such as the:
- Schwob Percussion Ensemble (with Dr. Paul Vaillancourt)
- Schwob Philharmonic Orchestra
- Schwob Wind Ensemble/Orchestra
- St. Luke Orchestra
- Smiths Station Community Band
- Schwob Singers
- and more!
and also have teaching experience at:
- Columbus State University/SSOM as Percussion Methods TA
- Smiths Station High School & Band Camp (with Dr. Gene Butler)
- Harris County Drum Camp
- Veterans Memorial Middle School
- Aaron Cohn Middle School
- and more!
I believe that every student deserves the opportunity to pursue their passion.
Immediately following high school graduation, I started college and a full-time position at the university. After three years without playing an instrument, I switched to Music Education because of my commitment to learning, personal and professional development, and dedication to the Arts.
I was given the opportunity to pursue music as a career because someone gave me a chance and I believe that every student deserves that same opportunity.
I will do everything in my power to supply my students with the tools to accomplish their goals.
I believe that education matters.
A student-oriented approach to learning.
